Steinar Svalesen (Partner)

Steinar Svalesen is the Managing Partner of Ignitas. He has more than 20 years of industry experience. He came to Ignitas from Teleplan Consulting where he served as Director of Telecom, Media and Technology. Previously Steinar has held various management positions in the Norwegian and US IT/Media/Telecom industries. In 2006 he founded Ridgehaven Ventures, a small investment and strategic consulting company. In 2002 he co-founded Telenor Interactive based in Washington DC, which became the first cross-carrier messaging company in the US. In 2000 he was managing director of Carrot Media – a subsidiary of Carrot Communications.

Steinar is a graduate of Texas A&M University with Master of Science in Computer Science as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (Cum Laude).

With his extensive business and technology experience, Steinar is a sought-after advisor to a number of start-ups. He currently serves on the boards of Job2Mobile AS and Mobile Payment Solutions AB.
